As Paul said, an interesting and unusual take on traditional metal. Largely making me think of Dio with a punkish vibe, but sometimes the lyrics make me think of early Scorpions where I’m not sure if they meant to say what I thought they said. Yet, it always sounds amazing- heavy, rhythmic, melodic, and pounding heavy metal, variously and sometimes all at once. Killer songwriting and musicianship, top notch all around.

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good.
